Superiority

1. Basic physical properties
Isobutane is a colorless flammable gas at normal temperature and pressure. Melting point -159.4 ℃. Boiling point -11.73℃. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether, etc. It forms an explosive mixture with air, the explosion limit is 1.9% to 8.4% (volume), its vapor is heavier than air, and it can spread to a considerable distance at a lower place. It mainly exists in natural gas, refinery gas and cracked gas. It is obtained from physical separation, etc., and can also be obtained from n-butane by isomerization. It is mainly used to make isooctane by alkylation with isobutene, as the improver of gasoline octane number. Can also be used as a refrigerant.

2. Main sources
1. Exist in petroleum gas, natural gas and cracked gas. It is obtained by separation of carbon four fractions produced in the process of petroleum cracking.
2. Using industrial isobutane as raw material (content is 82% to 91%), three-stage adsorption process is adopted. The first-stage adsorber removes impurities such as C2, C3, n-butane and 1-butene, the second-stage adsorber removes isobutene, and the third-stage adsorber further removes C2, C3 hydrocarbon impurities, and the product purity is greater than 99.99%.
3. It is obtained by adsorption or freezing of natural gas after fractional distillation with surfactant.

3. Main use
1. Mainly used to produce isooctane by alkylation with isobutene, used as gasoline octane number improver. Isobutene and propylene can be produced by cracking. Alkylation with n-butene and propylene can produce alkylated gasoline. Methacrylic acid, acetone and methanol can be prepared. Can also be used as a refrigerant.
2. High-purity isobutane is mainly used as standard gas and special standard mixed gas.
3. It is used to synthesize isooctane, as gasoline octane number improver, used to make isobutene, propylene, methacrylic acid, used as refrigerant, etc.
